If you have the time to drop me a line about how you found someone great to do your revision let me know, and of course the process.  Some really no so wonderful things have changed since having my babies (2 within 16 months of each other)- and I want to be around even longer now that they are here.  Thanks!  Keep us up to date...I am suspecting you will do FABULOUS!

Just wondering, how did you know it was done incorrectly? I had bypass done and swear something is hooked up where it's not supposed to be :(

I weighed 365 when I had Gastric Bypass... I'm now 280. My surgeon just kept saying I wasn't doing what I was supposed to and basically scolded me every appointment. I was exercising.. had a trainer at the gym but I was constantly hungry. My doctor said I needed diet pills... put me on Phentramine... when that didn't work he put me on something else that caused more weight gain! He then said I needed to see a hypnotist. That is when I told that practice see you later!! After 3 years of being told it was all my fault that my WLS had failed I was done!

My mom had Gastric Bypass in Pittsburgh for insurance purposes (we live 2 hours away from there) So I decided to go see her surgeon last year... He checked my blood work (which my other surgeon rarely did.. I think only three times) I had an upper GI and Lower GI done which revealed that I didn't have a stomach pouch at all. Everything I eat goes right through to my intestines. That's all he needed to see to be #1 Appalled and #2 schedule a revision surgery to make it right.

Good Luck if you persue it... a lot of people just think it's their fault.. and there could actually be a problem.

Hi KyleBeth!

So glad to hear that you are able to finally have your needed revision!  Losing weight again will feel so good!

I know what you mean about not really looking forward to the recovery...  it is tough!  And now with your precious babies at home I can understand why this time there would be even more fear.  (((Hugs)))

Just think though, this is something that you are doing not only for yourself, but for them too.  They need you to be able to be active & healthy for many years to come.

It is weird that you don't have a pouch.  What on earth did your original surgeon do?!  I am surprised that you have had no other health problems besides not losing enough weight & being constantly hungry.  You could have had some serious ulcer problems because of the food going straight into your intestines!  So thankfully you are okay.

Do you plan on having any more children?

Well, take care for now!
